Maybe I'll check back after midnight. The deal is just Ok, since Sears adds sales tax. I was going to stack the 10% and 7% off elated to make it about $223 in CT.

I can't get the item to show as discounted in the cart like the site said it would. I nearly checked out entirely and never saw the price budge below $250.

Tearing in Flash based video

Yeah, that's me too. When I run Hulu in a browser with full screen, tearing is improved but not eliminated. For example, in Hulu Desktop, I see tearing in multiple places during fast pans. In Firefox, tearing is located only about 1/4 down from the top. I've seen this kind of tearing in Sagetv...

So the fact that Flash doesn't seem to be using hardware acceleration except for scaling is the reason why Hulu and the like tear constantly? So, in your opinion, the only solution is to move to Vista if I can't get the video in a program that will actually use DXVA? My main reason for...

Hard Drive Issues

I did not. I think I'm on 1006. I have tried to flash the bios beyond this in the past with negative results. At one point, I couldn't boot the system without reverting back to this version. Do you know if they have improved compatibility in later versions? I heard that this the Spinpoint issue...

Hard Drive Issues

Hey gang, I need some advice or maybe just need to vent frustrations. I have an older Nforce4 system mobo (A8N-E) with a 450W PSU that I am using as an HTPC. This mobo support IDE and SATA2 drives. I happen to have 3 older IDE drives(120gb and 160gb, DVDROM) and two newer 500gb SATA2 drives...

I just checked this site to order before tomorrow when one of the rebates was ending and they pulled a different rebate. Now that they removed a $30 rebate the price is now $110! I don't get it. Maybe one of the rebates was a mistake?

Thanks for the suggestions. I have a lot to think about. At this point, it seems that PCIE 2.0 isn't necessary but I wonder if in 2 years there will be a need. If not, then I would consider a P35 over the x38 chipset.
