You won't be sorry Tinty. Since I installed 830s as my OS drive, two data drives, my laptop OS drive and as an external drive, going back 7 months I think now, I have had not one single issue. Not one! Not even a program crash. I'm beginning to think that a lot of the problems with computing...

I agree with everyone here who says the 830 is your best bet. Prices are coming down, but the primary factor is how stable the drives are. I bought three Corsair Force GT drives (2x240GB and 1x90GB). I've RMA'd both the 240s. The 90 seems stable though I'm using it strictly for backup, and...

Thanks lxskllr, maybe I'll go back to Firefox...I used to use it but it got so slow and topheavy I got ticked off and went with Chrome, which has a lot of cool features, but this inability to disable the location thingy ain't one of them. I checked out Tor, my paranoia index isn't high enough...

Okay, figured out the first part: Windows has a switch that enables Windows to burn disks, or not. If it's set to disable, it enables the burning. Makes sense to me. Mine was set to enable, which by Windows' perverse logic, disabled burning. All's good now. Still no luck with the external...

Sorry, didn't mean "burners won't post" They won't burn. I hope someone's got an idea what's going on, I'm out of ideas. My new ASUS P8Z68 Deluxe/Gen3 build has been running just great. Not a single BSOD with two Samsung 830 256GB SSDs leading the charge, but strange things happening lately...

I agree, I use my computer 90% for work also, that's why I went to the Samsung. 300 BSOD vs. 0, works for me.
