What a crock. Both Fry's in San Diego and San Marcos have ZERO of the CPUs in stock.
No rainchecks
No substitutes.
The kicker is that one of the salesguys whispered to me that they NEVER had them in stock, not even at store open, and they won't get any in for the duration of the sale. They...
After messing around with the various matress toppers and "NASA Foam" of different brands, I conceded that it was time to go all the way and do it right. So I started shopping for price on a real TempurPedic mattress. They must keep a pretty tight fist on their distributors, since almost none...
Having gone through a few pillows and finally settled on the (expensive) TempurPedic originals, I moving on to the matress itself. Rather than go through the same upgrade process, I'm starting at the high end this time.
Has anyone found a place that sells *real* tempurpedic mattresses at a...
The camera is $1499 (MAP) just about everywhere. Dell was taking 10% off yesterday, and some have gotten Gateway to match it, but most of those folks are crying "cancelled order" now. It's a mess.
If you're hot on the search for one of these, you're probably hashing it out on some camera...
If you're going to cut & paste straight from dpreview.com, you should at least give credit. I think those 8 are long since spoken for. Original thread at dpreview
Unless, you know, you're Sean.
Until IBM publishes some reason why four out of four of my 75GXP drives failed within the first year, I won't touch another IBM hard disk.
Each RMA was (eventually) replaced by a "remanufactured" drive, and those lasted anywhere from 1 week to four months. Every one of those failed too...
DEAD. Products all yanked.
Not that they are going to be shipping out $0.08 LCDs anytime soon, but some of these online vendors are getting really sloppy in controlling their pricing database. I imagine it would be different if there was any legal requirement for them to actually ship orders.
Unbelievably hot!
I usually shun Sandisk flash memory because it's too slow for high-end cameras, but this Ultra CF is much better. It's up there with the RiData and Transcend cards. I can't wait to benchmark it and find out for sure.
$97 (free ship) is killer. Thanks for posting!
I bought one of the larger grey Firewire/USB2 combo cases from CompGeeks several months ago, and it sucks. It only works for a few minutes at a time, and then the drive simply disappears from Win2k. This happens on either USB or Firewire, and I tried three brands of IDE drive from 20 to 80GB...
The D-Link 1000AP can do 128bit WEP after a firmware upgrade. Mine is doing it fine.
Remember that 40 bit and 64-bit WEP are *identical*. Different names for the same thing... you can only set 40 bits of the key yourself. Confusing, but true universally.
My 1000AP with 40-bit WEP peaks out...
I have one of these (bought before the rebate), and use it under Win2k.
I bought it to use a DDR dance pad with DDR for the PC. It mostly works.. until you stand on a pad instead of tap it.
It's *supposed* to just hold down the button until you tap it again, but for some reason, either the pad...
I got in on the last Burger/Steak/Cheesecake hot deal from HSN, and I was REALLY disappointed.
The "Seasoned Steaks" were some of the worst cuts of meat I've ever had the misfortune of grilling. They were salty, tough, and downright distasteful with a chemical "tenderizer" flavor throughout...
I bought one of these KPL1000 (for $30 ouch), and it's pretty much what it claims to be. The "mousepad" is pretty lame and extraneous, but it comes off nicely.
Casio has recently released a whole new software application for controlling the printer. It's called "FA-B30" instead of the...
Dude, you simply must try looking at Analog (VGA) and DVI next to each other. You'd change your tune in a hurry. Analog always looks a bit 'fuzzy', with blurred pixels even at the native resolution. DVI is tack sharp, like a good laptop screen.
The only people saying you can't tell the...
