How do you fix a MFT/MBR

Ghost, the Windows XP installation program, and Runtime's DiskExplorer all detect an invalid bootsector, but chkdsk doesn't detect it so won't fix it. I also did the fdisk thing and that didn't work. My operating system boots, but I need to fix the invalid bootsector so I can do a clean install...

My SCSI controller seeing my harddrive as narrow instead of wide

Here's the deal, they moved me to a new node some my IP addresses have changed but the DNSes haven't. I manually typed in the numbers I got from using ipconfig. Explorer didn't even work. I also tried pinging "mail" and using that address for mail. Nothing. I don't get it. It...

For the mail server I use "mail" and news "news". That's why I think it's strange that I can get mail. For some reason it's able to resolve the correct address when the dial-up is connected, but not when I'm just connected through the LAN alone. I didn't have to specify...

Anyone got any issues with Netscape 6?

I had no problems with the install. You don't have to sign-up to use the browser. New browsers load just as fast as Explorer. No crashes. Maybe you people just have to much crap on your systems that mess everything up.

NTFS cluster size

I don't think there will be much wasted space. I only use a third of my disk space now anyway. And how many files on your harddrive are less than 2KB? I think the lost space will be worth the speed gains, no matter how small. The doesn't see to be a way to change the size anyway. I can't use...
