Nvidia 800 series desktop cards soon?

The 700 desktop series (aside from 750/750ti) are rebrands. 800 series will be 20nm GPUs with the new Maxwell architecture. I'd definitely wait. The 750/750ti (Maxwell GPU architecture but still on the old 28nm process) already show a huge increase in performance/watt. I can't wait to see...

GTX 770 vs. 780

Definitely. Gigabyte's Windforce model has better thermals and lower noise, and can be had for the same price as a reference version. I'm very happy with my GTX 670 Windforce.

GTX 770 vs. 780

770 isn't a bad card, it's just not THAT big of an upgrade over the 670. Maybe a 15-20% boost in performance, but with 80 watts more power consumption under load according to the Anandtech review. That said, a 770 is MORE than enough for 1080p. You'd be crazy to pay the more than $100 price...

AMD back in gear, Centurion FX

8GB isn't great, but for that price it's still an incredible deal. Cloud storage/streaming is a viable option on T-Mobile since they give you unlimited data.

IMO might as well just spend the $300 for a brand new Nexus 4. No sense in getting an old Android phone that will be stuck on an outdated OS version (especially since 4.1 was such a massive improvement).

HTC should maybe go out of business

I think the Thunderbolt was what really killed their reputation. I knew several people who owned one. Most of them are now using a SGS3 or iPhone.

I meant smartphone manufacturers. I'm sure there are plenty of component suppliers, carriers, electronics stores, app developers, accessory makers, etc. making money but they're not relevant to this discussion.
