Seriously, what's the deal. Vista and routing problems.

I get an IP!!!! I have a an IP in the correct subnet, the right gateway .. it's all there! This isn't the DHCP issue that I am having a hard time searching around on google .. and I'm not getting DHCP info from a router, I'm getting it from a 2k3 server on an enterprise network. edit...

We have lots of laptops here and whether it's a lenovo, a toshiba, an LG, whatever .. if it's running Vista it will sometimes get this weird problem.... has IP just won't route or talk to the network. If I put the computer to sleep and wake it up .. VIOLA! It usually works. Sometimes it...

Mac OS Question

"consider"? Always have backups. That being said, you can do a simple upgrade which will keep all of your files in tact. What you don't want to do is "erase and install". Though, that's the way I always do it because I like to start fresh.

Can I use an ATX 2.0 PSU on my old ATX motherboard?

Can I use an ATX 2.0 PSU on my old ATX motherboard?

I just bought an antec earthwatts 430 PSU. It has a 24 pin connector where my old ATX motherboard (asus A7V) has a standard ATX 20 pin connector. So basically, can I just stick this on and leave the extra 4 pins not plugged in, cause it will fit like that. Just don't know if it's backwards...

MAC OSX - Odd little things happening

Also, some things on the mac don't "just work" which I stay away from the trackpad as a clicker, Apple screwed that one up IMO. On the windows side of things I wouldn't be able to live without it.

MAC OSX - Odd little things happening

I use the double tap on all windows laptops, I don't use it on OS X because I find it sucks. To get your airport thing sorted out to go network prefs and make sure you have "connect automatically" turned on. That failing, create a "new location" for your connection, set it up how you need it...

I grew up using windows and I keep myself virus free. I use macs too and the servers here at work (and formerly at home) mostly run some flavour of linux. So ok, what's my point? Well, out of the box Windows creates an admin account for the first user, this is usually mom or dad or uncle Leo...
