Reading Win 2K Minidump files ???

I have been having intermittent lock ups on my machine and the system records what was going on at the time. How do I read the Minidump (.dmp) files so I can see what caused the crash? Should I be saving the full kernel dump or the systm dump instead to get more information? Thanks

yet another Vid card choice question radeon or GF2 or Matrox

Nvidia drivers for Leadtek GeForce 2 Pro

I recently got a Leadtek GeForce 2 Pro and am running their driver set. My question is - does this include the Detonator drivers that I can get directly from Nvidia? If not, will the latest Detonator drivers work better than the drivers from Leadtek? Thanks

ACPI question for Win 2K

I recently shut off the ACPI function in Win 2K thinking it might help to get better benchmarks and less crashes. So far so good on both acconts. My question is how can I get the PC to turn off when I tell it to shut down rather than waiting for it to tell me "Its okay to shut down...

KK266 won't boot!!! PLZ HELP!

After much frustration with looping restarts, I flashed the bios back to 4/26. What I got then was a single bios load, then the system would go into a loop looking at the CDROMs as the boot disk...can't figure out why! Now the system will only POST once, run the bios once, and then gets into an...

Where's all my memory?

Try putting the largest memory stick in the 0 bank and work to the smallest stick in bank 2. Also make sure that your sticks are all rated the same (CAS3 or CAS2 and PC100). Somtimes systems don't like intermixed RAM based on speeds and/or brands. Check your manual for install options on memory...

Strange boot cycle on KK266

I was using the 5/15 BIOS but it was causing a looping shutdown. I switched down to the 4/26 and now the looping shutdown is gone but the looping CDROM startup is there.... WHAT TO DO!?!?!? WHAT TO DO?!?!?!

Strange boot cycle on KK266

I just installed the VIA 4.32 drivers and rebooted. When the system tried to come back up from the restart, it hit both of my CDROMs before ever trying the hard drive. It actually tried the CDROMs, then restarted the machine, tried to access the CDROMs again, then restarted the machine... It did...

I just installed my new Iwill KK266 board and now when I shut down Win 2K at night, the system powers down, then starts up for a split second, then shuts down, then starts up, and so on. I can get the machine to completely shut down only if I hold in the power button long enough for a hard...

Bad L2 cache = bad CPU..???

What in the video drivers might be screwed up? I am running the latest VIA AGP driver along with the latest drivers for my Pro card from Leadtek... Win 2000 support web stuff said it could be Page Extension Size problems or just need to update compatibility drivers for VIA. I've trie both and it...

Bad L2 cache = bad CPU..???

Can L2 cache go bad but still mean that the CPU is okay? I am trying to run 3d games and 3dMark2001 and they all lock up. When I disable the L2 cache on the CPU the 3d Mark 2001 ran but I got a low value (1914). I tried it again with the L2 cache enabled and it froze during one of the tests...

2.5V reading is 0.36V - What's up???

I rencently installed a KK266 motherboard with a T-Bird 850 (not OC'd). I am a stickler for temps and noticed the voltage readings for the 2.5V reading were WAY OFF with the new board. Any ideas what might be causing it or should I just ignore it? The others are within norms.

Which is better - CAS2 or CAS3 memory?

Should be non-parity (not non-buffered).... sorry, I can't type and think at the same time it seems. =)

Which is better - CAS2 or CAS3 memory?

Does it matter if the memory says ECC or non-buffered? Does the access time of 7.5ns make much difference over 8ns?
