Wow that does suck... now I'm glad I decided to wait on buying HL2. Steam always has some sort of crazy trouble when releasing new things.

That's true, but if you can pay a lot more like 100-150 as you suggested earlier, why not buy the game for 50 dollars which comes with 1 month free, then buy 100 dollars worth of time cards. That's about 6 months right there. Though yeah it does suck for regular mature kids who don't have jobs...

Just a personal opinion, I prefer the monthly fee over a high flat fee. If I stop enjoying the game or run out of time, I would stop my subscription. Having a monthly fee also adds an incentive for Blizzard to continue keeping the game in tip-top shape. Fixing bugs immediately or risk losing...

You obviously didn't when you didn't do enough research about the game you bought. Perhaps if you did do some research ahead of time, you wouldn't be in this rut. Take responsibility of that instead of trying to blame and put the responsibility on the store that won't let you return an OPENED...

Which CE Pet is the best looking ingame? For those who have bought CE and are playing right now. I just bought mine during my lunch break, I'm eyeing the clock waiting for time to go home, but he clock seems to be going backwards.

World of Warcraft - Circuit City $44.99

So Circuit City will indeed honor Buy.com's lower CE Price? If so I'll just buy from CC since they look like they are solid. I might even pick it up if its on the way home from work. I don't want to buy from Buy.com since their customer rating doesn't look solid, some are even a little shady...

Who's NOT playing HL2 today?

Haven't bought it and now I don't think I'll be buying it for a while. A couple of reasons, one World of Warcraft has sucked me in. I also work long hours and was just moved from probationary programmer to full time level 1 programmer, sux. And also, a few people already beat HL2 the first day...

Will blizzard allow all the open beta accounts to keep thier chars for the retail? *OFFICILA WORD*

They will 99% wipe the beta testing characters and accounts. One it's only fair since I'd bet more than 50% of the beta testers won't be playing once the game goes live. That is because most are kids who just want to play this game for free while it lasts, which leads to a lot of names already...
