When your pc hangs in the post logo try disconnecting all usb devices. This happened to me with my Maximus VI Hero and that solved the issue.

Ref hd7970 both BIOS with bad flash, dead?

Its windows based ! Does it make any difference? Can i use my HD4600 integrated graphics instead? I mean just plug the card in with the hdmi cable in the motherboard hdmi input and set the iGPU as main display device in BIOS. Haven't tried that yet. My poor card is lying under the bed in its box :P
