Good case. Roomy, big, very nice modding possibilities...very popular for that reason alone.
Personally, I want to get a Yeong Yang YY-0221B so I can stick all my water cooling stuff inside the case :)
Check your IDE cable (on the CDRW and on any other drives on the chain) to make sure it's not loose. Also check any other connections to/from the CDRW.
Other than that, sounds like it may be givin up on ya.
For RAID the best seems to be the new WDs with 8MB cache.
<< I know that the fastest has been the 75GXP >>
I believe the fastest were the 60 GXPs...notice "were"
<< I'm in Florida and my Duron 1000 @ 1200 was running at 56/57C (42C idle) after gaming etc. Now that the ambient temperatures have dropped I've seen it as low as 38C (28/29 idle). But in the 40's is more realistic.
If you are running in the 50's I wouldn't worry about it at all. :) >>...
Nah, don't do it.
I don't think you'll need the increased speed since you are already going from a slower proc to a faster one. If later on you determine you need more out of your system, try and OC it.
I dont trust any of mine...
I run a water cooling setup and Asus Probe, the MB BIOS, and MBM5 report about 50C idle on my 1.4 GHz T-bird. I hope you see why I find the reported temps I get hard to believe.
Good rule of thumb for case cooling:
At least one more exhaust fan than intake fans.
Upper half of case: make exhaust
Lower hlaf: Intake
<< If I replaced the three of them with panaflos, would my temps go back up, or do they move air just as good? >>
It depends really...on your placement...
You cant always trust the motherboard temp sensors. My Asus A7A266 says my 1.4 T-bird is running 50C idle...and Im water cooling.
Try with the case on...it actually improves performance sometimes, depending on whether you have good case flow or not.
SK-6 is a good cooler...something else is wrong.
[qWhat do you mean run at 7 volts all the time? How do it do that and what does this do? make then run at a lower rpm?
I notice that you have a alpha 8045 with a papst fan like me.. what other fans do you have blowing in/out of the case? I might now have enough fans other than the power supply...
