Win 2000 dual hard drive boot question

Belkin wireless desktop problem

Just to say Thanks for your advice. I solved it about 15 minutes after i posted. i move the pci card to another slot. dont know if it was a faulty slot or if it was just causing conflicts, but now the network works fine. thank you all

How is the ATI 9600?

I just started playing HL2 on my 9600, and it handles it wonderfully at 1024/786, 2x aniso and anti ailising. i get 46fps on the stress test. Provided your utting it with a decent processor (im running an athlon xp 2400 @ 1800 due to bios issues)

The Invisible Hard Drives

I may be wrong, but it shouldnt matter if the drives are set to master or slave, but cable select can bruing up some problems. try setting the jumpers to other combinations

How often do you format and re-install windows?

If i install a new peice of hardware ie my new hard drive, If I get out of control spyware related issues (IE became unusable at one point) If I start to run out of space (40GB + 1.5Mbps = P2P headache)

Budget notebook decision

Can anyone sugest a budget notebook for me. It only needs to do word processing, internet, and the occasional DVD, but i want it to be able to be functional for around 3 years (it's for my mum) Id rather nopt go woth a celeron from a value point of view. any suggestions?

Best laptop for my mum

My mums back to school soon, and wants a new laptop for office apps, internet, light music and the oiccasional DVD. She wants to spend a max of £800 GBP. I'd rather she went with an athlon purely from a value perspective, but i dont know much about notebooks. any reccomendations for a good one...

good news. still gonna go seagate. you can pick up 160GB 8MB cache for £63(IDE) and £70(SATA). long live value!!!

I plan on upgrading this week and replacing my old 8 gig maxtor (7 years old) with a shiny barracuda 7200.7. Iwill also be getting a DVD RW as my only disk drive. how should i arrange my40 gig 5400rpm, 160gb 7200rpm and the DVD RWer on the IDE controller (two cables) Also, should i keep...

well your sig sort of answeres the question. get a hard drive! also, if you have time, sell your graphics card here (you'll get more money) then fly to Cali and upgrade to a 6800 or X800 series. also try to find a monitor or nice case, they seem silly-expensive in the uk. Im not sure, but...
