Question The "lens" of two NVMe(s) in RAID 0

It's doubtfull that the extra 4 pcie lanes would be making a big difference in most things. Unless you are running a benchmark that specifically isolates that area.

The support of ecc udimms is up to the board partners to enable in their bios apparently. Registered ECC would be incompatible on all desktop consumer AMD boards/chips. Your best bet for verifying that it is working would be a linux livecd or memtest86. Also, I think software raid is very nice...

I went ahead and purchased another T705 and an ASUS Hyper M.2 x16 Gen5 Card (has active cooling). So i'm going to try 3xnvme software raid, mostly just out of curiosity. I also noticed that running the nvme drive from the x570 pcie lanes instead of the cpu lanes results in ~10% performance drop...

I tried the ide to sata and sata to ide adapater years ago with some success. You will likely need to set the jumper to master or cs on the drives, look into that, I can't remember for sure. Also I believe there could be weird quirks with AHCI and ATAPI. Maybe you'll need to set some kinda...

Thanks to both of you. I was under the impression that R-DIMMs did not buffer the clock. Most documentation only seems to mentions command/address. I'm kinda excited about ddr5, cudimms, and other memory tech. Turin having 12 channels is just amazing. Maybe i'll open a thread in the memory...

Because I'm wondering specifically about turin. The choice seems to be only registered dimms. I too was looking at that supermicro motherboard, but i'm thinking maybe now is not the time. What are your thoughts on this ? I don't mean to upset you, but you are the only one who has posted here...
