Well, it's also running point-of-sale software in the back office of a store, so unfortunetly I have to spend the $$$ to run Windows. If it was my own box I'd run FreeBSD on it, especially since the review above (thanks ericlp!) notes that the bios has an option to send power-on console...
In my case, I need to order my memory from newegg so that I can buy the oem (discounted) version of Win 2k Pro from newegg; the oem software needs to be bought with "hardware", and memory counts as hardware.
I ordered on Monday afternoon; same thing - yesterday the web site didn't recoginize my order. So I called in and the rep confirmed my order really was there (the automated phone "check your order status" worked also). The rep said the storms were playing havoc with their computer systems...
Dell's web site seems a little hosed at the moment, I couldn't find any tech info on the 600SC today (like I did yesterday). I was able to find it eventually by going through Dell Canada, so here's a direct link to the tech docs for the 600SC:

Update: if you...
I downloaded the service manual for the 600SC from Dell and here's what it says about memory:
"A minimum of 128 MB of ECC PC-1600/2100 DDR SDRAM memory or DDR-200/266 SDRAM memory, upgradable to a maximum of 4 GB by installing 128-, 256-, 512-MB, or 1-GB registered memory modules in the four...
An Office Depot in my area (Oceanside, CA) had various Palm covers (Franklin, Body Glove) on clearance a few weeks ago also - picked up a nice cover for my IIIe for $5. (Just a cover, not a binder like the ones you saw). Maybe OD nationally is clearing out their palm covers?
If they have a...
> Do TI calculator's do anything better than HP's?
Probably same functionality, both have active shareware software communities.
Btw, the 49G can operate in normal algebraic mode or RPN mode.
I *much* prefer RPN, though - I like having the last result hanging out on the stack, where I can...
I'm going to get either the 48gx or the 49g. I really like the "old style" keys on the 48GX, but the 49G is faster and has more memory.
I need an HP replacement for my HP-16C, which I noticed recently is going on fleabay for $300! I shouldn't be carrying that around in my backback...
You could get Staples to PM with HP's own web store to make the calculator prices cheaper:
HP-48GX
$149.99 HP web store
- $75 HP rebate
- $30 Staples 30 off 150 coupon
$44.99 Price before taxes, shipping
Remember to add on some paper clips or something to put the total over $150 at...
One big upside to this deal is that maybe Dell will actually be able to ship these if you order them...
(see other threads for waiting on Dell to ship really hot deals memory)
