I don't know how to do those codes :(
1.155v for 4.6Ghz seems soooooo low. I think that overclock would crumble in Prime95 :P Or you have some silicon crafted by the gods.
Intel Turbo Boost.
I changed my overclock, because 94°C was just too hot. It's 4.2Ghz on 1.225v now, peeking at 81°C on...
Ok, here's what I did to my 4670k (not all at once, but this is what it is now)
- cpu ratio is 44
- uncore is 3.8Ghz
- vcore is 1.275
- turned XMP on (9 9 9 24 1600Mhz)
- turned turbo off
That runs 94°C at the hottest while running Prime95 for at least 10 minutes. Tried cranking the ratio up...
Thanks. I did learn a little from that, but I couldn't find a uncore voltage setting on this board's BIOS... I did raise the uncore from 3.4 to 3.8 though, with my 1.2v vcore and 4.0Ghz clock.
EDIT: I've finished my overclocking for today. I decided to raise my vcore to 1.275 to see how high I...
Ok, my friend bought all those parts I didn't want to keep, and then gave me some money to buy the rest of the system. This is what I've built;
CPU : 4670k
Mobo : Gigabyte Z87X-D3H
GPU : MSI 7970 Twin Frozr OC
RAM : Dominator Platinum 16GB
PSU : Corsair GS800 (room for CFX if needed, the fan...
Thanks for the opinions people.
I have my PC finished, and this is what I have;
Case : SG09
CPU : 4670k
Mobo : Z87 Gryphon (needed the extra fan headers, and it was only $40 more than the z87M Plus from ASUS)
RAM : 8GB Low Profile, Low Voltage Vengeance (I went with low voltage because it's...
I think it would be near impossible to watercool in the SG09, because the only rad suitable mount is a 120 on the rear, and that couldn't cool an entire system. I'm not even sure if I could install rads on the side and top panels, given that its all one removable piece.
I was slightly unsure...
Right, thanks mfenn. The SG09 does have some fans placed directly over the VGA area (1x120mm stock, but another 2x92/80mm optional), so maybe I could experiment with intake to bring cool air directly to the card, or exhaust to pull that hot air away, or I could add 1 or 2 92mm fans, have some as...
Well, I'll just get a 4670k, because that level of CPU is always the best for gaming, and I'll probably just get a m-ATX board between $110 and $130.
That's great! In about a third of the volume too.
EDIT: These are the m-ATX cases I have been checking out lately:
Arc Mini - classic design...
True.
I don't really like the HDD placement either, because all the cords going to the drives would slightly block the only intake for the whole case. I think I will stick to the SG09. I did see that the SG10 will be releasing soon, which is pretty much the exact same as the 09, but with an...
