Chip makers with high yield rates do it all the time (but they burn out fuses, making software repair impossible). They're running a low-marginal-cost business. Their limitation is in how many customers they can get to buy their products. If it costs them $1M to start a production line on one...
Watch out, these are probably Deltas and not Seasonics (Antec's early Earthwatts were extremely well-reviewed Seasonic units - these havn't been reviewed much since they're using the same name).
Excellent, excellent deal - solidly built by Seasonic (like the Earthwatts line used to be - http://www.sysopt.com/features...s/article.php/3660031), with juicy modular goodness, and double graphics-card plugs. The only other thing I could have asked for is a 120mm fan or two.
*All* LCD brands are "just running on their names nowadays" - they're outsourced to a few factories in China & Taiwan, using no unique technologies. When there is a difference in build quality, it gets put down to that particular model, not all units of that brand.
Most likely, the secret is that everything they give out costs them zero. They offer to publish a menu and work a limited promotional coupon offering for lesser-known restaurants in an area (snagging probably 1%), and in exchange they get the profits from printing a limited number of gift...
Picked up one today at the Wheaton, MD BB for $52, both marked on shelf and in register. One of only three boxes(3 diff brands) in the entire 'computer case' section, but I dunno about what they had in back.
Deal is not dead by any means, this was the first store I checked - thanks RBC.
Tip for those looking - before you scour the store, find a clerk on the floor and ask him to look up a SKU for you. Then, stand behind him and watch the monitor. Some are false positives, but I don't think any false negatives.
So today I went to the Wheaton, MD store and happened on a helpful clerk.
According to the computer, 1 in stock at that store, five other nearby stores had 0 in stock, and Conn. Ave, Washington DC store had 2 in stock. He said that the one at their own store was a display and they couldn't...
Go through all the shit, put in a few hours of whatever legitimate methods of protest you have, including calls.
Then try again, but sound exhausted on the phone, and explain "I had hoped we could solve this without involving the courts in this..."
Welching on this level of rebate could...
This is the last thing I was planning on getting, but I'd buy it in a second... if the rebate scheme weren't so skeevy. Hell, at $100 this is an insta-purchase for someone who doesn't even need one. But I don't trust rebates. At all.
Good luck for those who do - updates later please.

Betterer. The deal with these (infocus made one to compete) is to get a DVD-quality picture that's wall-sized, as cheap as possible. It's an extension of the very, very popular Lumenlabs buy-a-15"-LCD-and-DIY-a-Projector idea...
I guess the second one I got a year ago is expired, but the first one worked beautifully - a very generous Greek dinner for two at a nice local place for net total $20, using a $10->$4 (they were 60% off at the time) coupon for 25off35. College students who never get to order...
The recommended cleanup procedure? Open a window, and walk out of the room. Even if you don't, I believe I remember calculations that given an average air replacement rate, you would never end up going above EPA mandated air concentrations by breaking a single CFL - though I certainly wouldn't...
Antec seems to have learned their lesson with previous models and the reputation that came with them. The Antec Earthwatt, neoHE, and Truepower Trio are OEMed from the same shop that builds Seasonic. Rock solid PSUs with 80%+ efficiency.
