I just bought this HSF from googlegear, and I really like it. VERY quiet and keeps my slightly OCd 1800+ under 50C (mobo temp is usually ~40C - I've hit 53C after couple hours of BF1942).
Mind you, my case really sucks, I have an older single fan PS, AND I only have one case fan directly above...
If you can, try formatting the HDD in windows... Of course, you would need another computer to hook up the HDD to... :)
I did have EXACTLY the same problem, and that's what seemed to fix it... While you are at it... Make sure your cables are all good and seated properly... A whiile ago, I...
Mine has served me well for couple years, but I guess the T-bird 1800+ combined with Geforce4 vc, couple HDDs, CDRW, case fan, etc.. was a little too much for it :)
Time to hit the Hot Deals forum for something with more juice... The spare one is a 300W Skyhawk(???)...
Hmmm... How good are those on-board CPU protection features??? I had mine set to something like 65C or so...
I didn't have time to check the individual parts, but that's my next step...
Maybe time for my ole' trusty Duron 600 :)
I did pull the battery, but I only let it sit for couple seconds - which is what the manual recommends.
I've got a strange feeling that I might have killed the CPU :(
What could have happened???
The system is based on Asus KT400 MB, 1800+ CPU, 512MB Crucial PC2100 memory.
I was running it fine for few hours (tried some BF1942 and everything was OK) but then I decided to overclock the memory to 333 and tried running Prime95. After couple minutes, the computer...
I really don't want to ditch my PC133 memory (just yet), but I want to upgrade my old oc'd Duron/Abit KT7 combo to something more contemporary.
I've searched Newegg, and I"ve been able to find few mobos that offer dual memory support: ECS K7S5A PRO, BIOSTAR M7VIW, MSI KT2 Combo-L. Are there...
Absolutely, that's why I have 2 rules of thumb:
1 - NEVER buy a new car.
2 - NEVER lease.
There is also a third one, that I'm especially proud of:
3 - Unless the car has factory warranty, NEVER take it to the stealer...
All these rules have allowed me to change cars quite frequently, while...
I just got this from Dell and it's taking me some time to get used to in in BF1942. I'm hoping that it's just a matter of
time before I figure it out 100%.
BTW, this is my first optical mouse, so that may also have something to do with it...
The reason I brought up Saab is that their resale value truly sucks, so when you buy a new one, you are pretty much guaranteed to lose lots of $$$ - espacially if you plan on selling the car in just few years. The reason you would rather lease one is that their lease programs are sometimes...
That's not necessarily true... One needs to look at total cost of ownership (i.e. cost per year, or $/mile, etc...) in order to determine which is better.
While I don't like leasing cars, there are situations when leasing is far more feasible than buying. Buying a Saab??? Silly... :) Leasing...
You are kidding, right??? The money went directly to stock holders and upper management's pockets.
Engineering and US manufacturers should not be used in the same sentence... That certainly quilifies as oxymoron...
As long as US manufacturers keep cutting corners left and right, I will...
