Well, from that site, it looks like the cable worked fine. The theif broke the corner of the laptop off. I believe thats really all these cable locks can do, which is drop the re-sell value of the laptop. Or maybe its just bad design of the apple notebook

Hey,
Upgrading your HDD does not void your warranty since it is considered a customer replacement part. The standard 3yr warranty doesnt include accidental damage but that can be purchased extra for a small cost (i think). Its called the Thinkpad protection plan

Well for one its actually made by xpoint. Two its free with the thinkpad and another good feature is that you can do a single file restore and it also works with the built in hidden partition that contains the ibm preload

Rapid Restore is pretty cool, If your windows gets hosed its nice to have a back image on your HDD, much quicker then bring out cds and restoring that way. You can also schedule weekly backups. RRPC also has the ability to back your archived images to CDs.
