Question X570 4.0x2 m.2 slot question.

When installing a 3.0x4 NVME drive in a 4.0x2 slot on an x570 board, the sequential drive read/write is capped just below the 2k mark since it is still only using 2 lanes at 3.0 regardless of the greater overall bandwidth available with the 4.0 m.2 slot. How does this 4.0x2 m.2 slot work with a...

Question WD SN850

As a system drive, would there really be much difference using the SN850 on an X470 PCIE3 vs X570/B550 PCIE4 motherboard? Would it just be the sequential read/write speeds that are knee-capped around 3k+ on PCIE 3? Would random / IOPS still remain the same? Curious for those like me in a...

So recent update: I did contact Seasonic and they had me record the sound and email them the audio file. Based on that, they approved a 'return' which was really having me break the warranty seal, remove and cut the label and destroy the PSU beyond repair and send them pictures of all those...

So that just proved to be a big waste of time and money. Seasonic sent me back a replacement PSU that has a rattle-sounding fan that is just as loud if not louder.... Disappointing to say the least. Good news is my new Corsair is dead-silent and I can just forget about using/recommending...

Thanks, and I don't worry much about chipset fan noise, I am just a fan of eliminating another point of potential failure/maintenance.. Honestly, was just trying to come up with a quick feature off the top of my head that the x570 doesn't offer... It would make sense if the next iteration...

Yeah, I agree. I did RMA the Seasonic (12 bucks to ship) and I will just keep the Corsair. When the Seasonic returns I will just keep it as a back-up. Personally, I wouldn't feel right returning the Corsair, besides that thing is absolutely silent...
