Yes you will have to separate. It is quite easy to do if you look at your old connector you should see small flaps on the side that you can insert a small piece in to and lift slightly and the Case wires will pull right out. There will be exposed metal on the ends. If you have an old case you...

How do I connect my PC to my HDTV?

Yes, and set default to Digital Output Device [HDMI]. That is in Vista, I'm pretty sure XP is about the same.

Mine does, you have to go to the sound properties and change the audio out to HDMI.

should be able to go to computer "right click"/manage/disk management and partition it form there. Other wis do it with your hard drive manufacturers software. You should be able to download it off of their website.
