CHKDSK takes hours and hangs on the free space part

anti virus is nod32 Version3 64bit. renamed ALL the windows folders on this drive installed windows X64. I then set chkdsk to check on startup and it checked the disk in about 15 minutes with NO error what so ever. So I renamed my old X64 back and tried again and still the same problem. So I...

CHKDSK takes hours and hangs on the free space part

I set chkdsk to run on next bootup on my XP and now it runs but takes about 2.5 hours to complete on a Samsung Spinpoint 512Gb SATA2 on an MSI P35 NEO2 motherboard. It then hangs on the free space part. If I then reboot again It starts the process all over again. I have since run the disk...

Discernible difference in p35 and p45 boards

I have an MSI P35 Neo2-FR and if you want to dull down those BRIGHT green leds do what I do, I use a piece of Opaque white plastic and double sided tape it to the leds. It then gives then a VERY dull green glow.

the FSB limits are really board and chip dependent. Best read some reviews for each board you fancy buying.

need notepad from system32 and sysWOW64 for XP

it's mainly for right clicking .BAT and .REG files, I've done the .Reg files thanks xtknight, but can't find the bat file in the assosiations.
