I moved from a 9800pro to a 6800gs and my Shuttle only uses a 250W PSU, I've not had any problems. And yes, you will notice a big difference.

I have a question regarding the best overclocking tool to use. When my xfx 6800GS first arrived I used the coolbits .reg hack to overclock the card. And it worked well. Then I installed RivaTuner to unlock it, and that worked fine, but I could no longer change the clock settings, it kept saying...

just for comparison, here's my 3DMark2005 results: 9800pro = 2829 6800GS@350 = 4261 (identical to joincamp's) 6800GS@425 = 5000 6800GS@425 with 4 pipes unlocked = 5590 My PC spec: AMD 2600+ (333fsb) 2x512 Corsair

I was wondering that, at the end of the day I guess the card is really just a repackaged GT anyway. I'm not sure how RivaTuner gets the cards name, i.e how it's embedded in the GPU.

It was 5488 (it was 4200 before the unlocking and overclocking), but bear in mind I'm only running a AMD XP2600+ with a 333MHz fsb, so it's not exactly a top end system.

A mate of mine has a very similar spec pc to mine, but he's running a AMD 2800 with a 400MHz fsb. His original 3DMark score was about 100 points ahead of mine. He was also running a 9800pro. When i bought my GS he got a 850XT. His 3Dmark score is now 200 points ahead of mine. Personally I think...

Well, it is worth it for me, I'm only running a AMD 2600 CPU (333fsb). And I have a Shuttle SN41G2, so I had to have a card that only took up one slot. The blurb on the website i bought the card from did say it was clocked 75MHx faster than stock, I noticed now that they have removed this...

I'm pretty sure it is faster than a GT, my GS is clocked at 425MHz/1.1Ghz, and has 16 pipes. A GT is clocked at 350/1.0.
