I'm not trying to crap on the deal but if I were in the market, this seems like a better bang for buck.

1. DVD almost always originates from film. Cartoons etc. do not apply.

just FYI the resolution on the sony is just above regular progressive video. This is not an HD ready model being that its resolution is under 1280x720.

this deal only applies to hardware (ie new phone). It doesn't matter how long you've been with them. If you have changed your PHONE within the past 18 months, you don't qualify yet.
anyone feel like opening up the player and checking what chip they use to do the decoding? if you find that out, you could prolly find out what it "should" be capable of doing.
I have a geForce4 Ti4200 and am using the composite output to a TV. I play a DVD with winDVD and the brightness goes up and down thruought the whole movie. This happens on most all my DVD's. I have changed dvd drives and same issue. i have used different software and same issue. anyone else...
