Just bought a new GTI

Thanks to USAA I was able to get it for a bit more than a grand below invoice. That plus I somehow got $4k for my 8 year old 100k mile B3000, so I walked out paying around $21k. Didn't do too bad. This was the first car I bought myself so I was a bit nervous dealing with the dealers but USAA...

Just bought a new GTI

Just one. Both of these were taken with my phone at the dealership, so not the highest quality. I've swapped out the cloth floor mats for the rubber honeycomb ones. I had rubber ones in my truck and loved them. Being able to get them wet and muddy and just spray them off is excellent.

No worries. The only other manual I've had was a '99 Saturn SC1. As you can imagine this is a big step up. So I don't have a lot of experience with better gearboxes.

Title just about says it all. My '03 Mazda B3000 was starting to have some problems. Nothing that couldn't be fixed but it also had a tendency to cut the engine off via the inertia switch if I hit a pothole of any size, and around here that is quite often. I drive a good bit on the interstate...

Robert Kubica seriously injured

Damn not "Bobby Kubeetzer". While never my favorite, he's a helluva talented driver and often overlooked. Hope he gets back on the track someday.

Zennioptical DO NOT BUY

The glasses I'm wearing now are from Zenni Optical. No issues. In fact, when ordering I put the wrong value in for one of the numbers. Within 24 hours I had someone emailing me to make sure I had it right before they started making the glasses.

~70,000 mile maintenance

Yeah, forgot to mention that. You got it right, it's a 2003 Mazda B3000 w/ an automatic and 2wd. I think I should be able to handle the fluids and the air filter. Not sure how to tell if the fuel filter needs to be replaced or not. Also not sure how to check the brakes and shocks, need to...

Corroded battery terminal

Yeah, not really worried of battery acid spilling out, but with my luck, it's always best to err on the side of caution. So does mean that the battery itself should be replaced? It's been going strong for 70,000 miles. Might be about time to replace it.
