HELP!! A8V won't turn off!!

i dunno. i don't think the computer should start when i put my plug into the PSU if the computer is off. sure, the light on the mobo might go on, but not the whole computer. anyway, i think i discovered the problem. for one, my computer started to smoke. i got really freaked out...

Trinitron going out? and 16ms 1" LCD?

just make sure you check the xbit labs list to confirm that the lcd you're buying is truly 16ms.

UT2004 needs 1024MB of RAM??

i went over to the minimum hardware reqs page and it said: 128mb minimum 256mb recommended 512mb (what i have, and game runs poorly) 1024mb (game actually runs smooth for me) i'm getting choppy play at 512mb. it's not the usual kind of choppy play, but my keyboard/mouse will stop responding...

PC3700 (samsung) + Nforce 2 (a7n8x-x) = okay?

thanks for the replies guys. i don't actually expect to hit 233fsb. i just want to know that i can stick the ram chips in there. at the very least, i want to know that i'm not limited by ram speed for my OC.

PC3700 (samsung) + Nforce 2 (a7n8x-x) = okay?

i think i should clarify. of course the pc3700 ram will work at 3200 and lower. but why would i do that, especially since i'm already running my current ram at that speed? i'm trying to get an FSB higher than 210. i want to get up to 230, and i'll need pc 3700 to do that. question is... will...

i always had full stability at 210FSB, but never above no matter how much i fiddled with the voltage. i suspect the ram, so i want to upgrade to the samsung pc3700. my question is.... will this ram work with my mobo? the asus site says up to pc3200. help?

An LCD is inferior to the CRT, just as the transistor is inferior to the tube.

i have a samsung 173p, which is arguably one of the best if not the best 17" lcd out there as far as IQ is concerned. that said, it's got 2d aliasing, really bad ghosting when i play call of duty or other FPS, a change in color when i view the monitor from an angle (and it's got the best viewing...

doh. i hope you didn't buy that 172x. that thing has terrible reviews, and ghosting up the ass. here, in south korea, those monitors got recalled a couple weeks after release. afaik, there is only one true 12ms panel from samsung, and that isn't available in the states. also, you should wait...

that card has no problems at 4x agp. you've got another problem on your hands. maybe defective card.

it's pretty general knowledge that there's a tradeoff between fast response vs. iq/viewing angle. i live in the country where these samsung panels are made. there's just no comparison as far as image quality is concerned. this is the best 17" you can get. that said, i wish i had waited for...

HELP ! Whats the Best ATI 9800 Overclocking tool?

ditto on the ati tool. it's awesome cos you can set it to run at a certain speed in 2D, and crank it up in 3D. AWESOME. not only that, but it'll find your highest possible overclock without artifacts.
