Installing XP on a vista laptop

HP dv9207's 7600Go: temps and overclocking

Hey all, I picked up an HP dv9207 on sale at CompUSA. I was messing around with it and I noticed to things. First, the video card gets really hot. Even in 2d mode after a about a half hour, the video core is sitting at around 80C. Is this normal for this laptop? Haven't really tried...

Can I use an Intel Xeon 3060 on a Gigabyte DS3?

Update: got 2 DOA motherboards in a row. So I can't answer whether it will work or not. It will work fine on an Asus P5B Deluxe though.

GB GA-965P-DQ6 or the EVGA 122-CK-NF68 Nvidia 680

I got 2 dead DQ6's in a row and ended up going with a P5B Deluxe to even get my PC to work. So I'm not totally convinced Gigabyte's QC is that great. However, they had really good and knowledgeable tech support.

Xeon better for overclocking than Core 2 duo?

Got 3.6GHz off my Xeon 3060 at 1.475V on a P5B Deluxe. Haven't tried pushing it further yet.

Can I use an Intel Xeon 3060 on a Gigabyte DS3?

I know this thread's a few weeks old, but I can tell you that a 3060 won't work on a DQ6 right out of the box. Gigabyte's telling me it's not compatible ... don't know if I bios fix will fix it.

Why is conroe board so expensive?

Or not. If people don't pay their prices, they'll lower them to a point where people will. They'll only charge what they can get away with. And if we keep letting them get away with murder ...

Asus P5B-E release date?

Yes, it is. However, at $170 for a $130 board that's going to have a replacement that will do 2.4V vDimm, I'm going to have to pass on this one. I can get a full blown loaded board for $200, and we should see more C2 steppings come out soon anyway. Super

Why is conroe board so expensive?

My guess would be because there's a lot of demand for them now. These processors perform very well and overclock very well, so people want them. And if a lot of people want them, the price goes up.

Official DO's and DON'T for ASUS A8N-SLI (PREMIUM)

I still have this board and it's still a POS. vCore was never fixed, and I still get random problems with it. Just did a reload about 3 weeks ago and it still won't boot all the way into Windows sometimes. Dumping this for a Conroe once the P965 C2 stepping comes out.

Widescreen afficianados: help with web pages, games, and pics

Thanks. I'll try these suggestions and see how it works. Might have to tweak a little to get it to work with our proxy script, but it looks promising.
