Who's playing Minecraft?

I'm playing minecraft too (IGN: Synaesthesia). Is there any kind of Atech server going? :D Also, did anyone see the "Drrdrrdrr" caption on the mainpage of the minecraft .exe? I would shit brix if Notch implemented that :(. Not to say I don't shit brix already ><

Wait, wut? LoTRO F2P. Yes... Lord of the Rings Online goes Free-to-Play

Man, I would sign up for this just because of the LOTR connection. What are the general impressions about this game? I've only ever played runescape in terms of MMORPGs, so looking to find another solid, FREE MMORPG. Free as in not fenced out of 80% of the map. Hang on, you need to buy this...

I7 870 = i7 950 in games???

Only just maybe. Games these days don't make much use of hyperthreading so that may be a reason. Overall, if you're going to be doing 3D modelling as part of your work, and still want to be able to OC and game, then 950 is better. If you have the cash that is.

You should check this report out for a comparison between the 980X and the 970. http://techreport.com/articles.x/18581/16 From what I can see, the 980X is a pretty significant jump in processing power from the 970.

I7-875K or i7-930 , which one is the best choice for extreme gaming?

Lol, the 920 is 280 CAD here, so not that much of a difference for me personally.

Wow, thanks! I didn't notice that until you said it. Would an i7 950 be good for 3D modelling? I might be doing some of that in the next 2 or 3 years and just wanted if an i5 would be better for that or an i7. Also, is it true that 950 has a higher OC limit than the 930?

First time build...

I'd also recommend the 1TB WD Caviar Black. It's odd, but all the slower and lower cached TB harddrives are more expensive over here then that one :D

True. I'm looking at efficiency and life as well. I don't see the point in getting a 1000w that only has like 80% efficiency when I can get a much better PSU that lasts longer for the same price. About the noise, I have a crappy HP pre-built right now, with a Bestec 300w. Now i'm not sure if...

This is one of thre most ridiculous and over the top movie trailers I have ever seen

Nothing beats a horse-mounted-hand-cranked minigun (see Jonah Hex). Also, why are two sexy nurses shooting SMG's at random? Why is Jessica Alba in a bra w/ eyepatch? Is that the badass russian guy from Iron Man 2?

Lucas Arts has been releasing revamped Monkey Island 1 and 2 games for the last few months. I think they plan on having a full new MI game if enough buy the MI 1 and 2 Special Editions. They've also released a kind of semi-sequel to MI 4. Basically 5 episodes of similar lengths. So yea...

I don't know if you know this already, but do make sure that whatever mobo you end up choosing is compatible with your CPU (in this case a socket 1156, or LGA1156). I'm in a similar position to yours in that I didn't know a PSU from a mobo until 2 weeks ago, but I still got until April 2011 for...
