i mentioned two games that are currently out and curiously you failed to even talk about tribes 2, because it actually needs the hardware T&L engine to run any where near what you might call "good" As for RtCW i run it max everything with 4xFSAA and i still get 125 fps. My point about Doom 3 is...

Aunix try running Tribes 2 on your Kryo 2 at 1280x1024 @ 60 fps and we'll see who has the better visual quality. You'd have to turn every setting down to get that high of a resolution and framerate. Try 1280x1024 in RtCW and you'll have to do the same things to get the framerates i do, so that's...

Dual Head Card with 2 ramdecks

i suppose you mean RAMDACs and not ramdecks. Any Dual Head Matrox Card will do it, g400, g450, g550, and i think just about all gf4s will do it, but you might need to get a DVI to 15 pin d-sub connector as most gf4 cards, the Ti ones at least, have a DVI and a 15 pin d-sub analog connector. just...

no t&l = sucks arse. that's why. to get decent framerates or even cool looks you need hardware t&l. I've been reading up on the StarWars Galaxies dev boards about how people are pissed off that they have to upgrade their 3 year old tnt2 or 1.5 year old kryo card cuz it doesn't have t&l and SWG...

Duel DVI

i suppose you mean Dual and not Duel, as the second would imply the two DVIs are battling each other. Gainward makes a Ti 4600 that has Dual DVIs and it isn't too expensive [~$330 at newegg]

Doom III's "Texture per Pass", explain why 4x2=4, and 2x3=3?

well because there are 6 textures, the radeon 8500 is the only card out right now that can work on the same texture with different texture pipelines. so, if you have a gf4, which i think is 4 pipelines with 2 textures each, you can either work on 4 different pixels with 2 textures each, or 1...

well i am probably on one of the oldest cable modem areas in michigan, and for on i can tell you my portion of the @home network is a lot more reliable than any other portion of the state, plus i get dl's just as fast if not faster than most other areas that have cable modems. so idunno what is...
