i might know what the problem is. my xp1800 wouldnt run either. turned out i had the divider set to 3:3:1 instead of 4:4:1 because 3:3:1 was the default setting. i also have the kg7 raid, so you might be experiencing the same thing. good luck

the fact that it doesnt auto detect the old cd rom might not be a problem, in my old comp the bios auto detect feature didnt find the cd rom either, and it still worked fine.
