in taskmanager, System is periodically taking 26% of CPU power

so, to the best of my knowledge, it's not a virus or spyware. =( it says, System SYSTEM 0 then will jump to System SYSTEM 26

A64 3500+ heatsink installation.

I'm trying to get the heatsink to attach to the second side, I have the side with the CAM lever already hooked. Apparently some force is required, but I am pushing a bit hard and am afraid I'll break my motherboard. Hlep!

Mobo wafer things, top of mobo? Or between spacer and mobo?

alright, ASUS just gave me a bunch and I didn't know if I need them or not since I personally havne't ever used them.

I have all the spacers in, but I don't know where to put the wafers. I have an ASUS A8V Deluxe.

Question about PSU molex distribution.

I forgot, are you supposed to give the HDD it's own feed? How about a GeForce 6800 OC? I know there were somethings that need their own feeds and can't be shared (Y split molex connectors). Can I put the optical drive and HDD on the same feed? HDD = 160 GB SATA

*whew* That's what I was hoping. I just saw this http://www.directron.com/15agpguide.html just scroll down to see the pictures of "not 1.5v" and such. That scared me, but thanks for the help, I really do appreciate it. /end newbie fear

Asus A8V-Deluxe Via K8T800Pro supports only 1.5v AGP cards?!!

Someone on another message board said that the 6800 OC will automatically switch to a 1.5v usage, is this true? I've been scouring the internet for answers, but I still could use some insightful clarification. I'm in panic mode, help me obi-wan (insert your last name here), you're my only hope.

PCI-E on AMD boards

Thank your Mrvile. Thermalrock, I don't think I'd much like a prebuilt system. Paying for OEM versions of XP is useless when I have they copy I'm operating with. This computer is going to be scrapped for parts. Prebuilts are a waste of money to me.
