I daytrade stocks and typically buy blocks worth $15,000 to $25,000 but will sell them within 15 minutes. My biggest one block was ~$35K but I only made a measly $100. At least it wasn't at a loss.
I'm glad to see that there's a lot of support in this forum. Good job on getting her to go to the prom. Just a word of caution. Keep it real. If your a little shy, you probably work a lot of things out in your head i.e. potential scenarios, what if's etc. Try to keep that to a minimum. See...
What seems to be happening? Is the HD running constantly at this point? What programs are you running at the time? Is the cursor moving very slowly also? Do you have any scheduled tasks enabled? Could be that you're computer is writing excessively to the swap file. Is your HD set to dma...
Under windows 9x, it doesn't make much of a diff if any, unless you're opening and closing a huge number of different programs within the same session(between bootups). Opening too many programs at once will cause lockups, crashes, etc because windows 9x has only a certain amount resources...
DaddyG,
Sounds like fun, where do I signup?;) You're right though, I will enjoy what a have for a while. What you suggest is pretty hard core and sounds like something I should've done from the get go. Doh! I was just too green to know and was too excited to get the thing up and running...
Unfortunately, I AM using a kt133a board. Still can't get it stable over 1100. Running at 7.5x146. Good ram too. Oh well. Got it as high as 1197 but won't run some programs i.e. unstable:(
I guess it depends on what you mean by good enough. With some of the other posts about 1gig doing 1.4, I thought 1.2 was going to be cake walk. It's not. So my expectations were not met thus I was dissapointed. Now that I know a little more, I see the performance of my scant 1gig at 1100...
Tempt,
Hey, that program you recommended is great. It really seems to stress the system nicely. Haven't tried all speeds yet but 147 passed but at 150 it locked up. Didn't report any errors before it locked though. Anyway, thanks and BTW how's your o/c going? Lemme know.

Daddy G,
I actually took your advice and tried to take down the settings on the memory. The highest I got with all the settings at optimum was 152 but would not load windows. When I took down the settings I still couldn't break that threshold. It seems something else is the limiting factor...
Tempt,
I admire your persistence. Keep it up. I will try out that burn in test that you recommended. I agree that benchmarks don't always test how stable you're setup is. Admittedly, some programs that I run may be flaky to begin with, they definitely have a sensitivity to fsb. Benchmarks...
DaddyG,
I didn't try a whole lot of tweaking with the memory to get the fsb higher, just set it to the max performance settings and went from there. I felt that because I bought the mushkin rev 3 that I should take advantage of it. It would be interesting to see if taking off some of the...
Tempt,
GTS is right. Higher fsb gives better performance but you may or may not be giving up stability. I read a post(maybe it was you)that they were running at that low of a voltage and mine just won't do it. I immediately got a registry error(I hate those cause I have no idea what just got...
sd,
It's chuggin along. If it weren't for the programs I need to run I could probably do 150fsb and not die. Games will run endlessly at that clock. Gets fidgety with certain programs though. I am looking to get win2k and try it out. I heard it can multitask alot better and gives you more...
This is how you can tell the week number:
A1000AMT3B
AJFA0050BPEW
94204370016
The 2 numbers after AJFA indicate the 2 last numbers of the year made(in this case 2000) and the next 2 numbers indcate the week(50) Whether this info does you any good it's yet to be seen. All we can do is wait...
