Thank you all for your help. MechBgon & Eloric the 2nd, even though I trust your advice I can't help being bothered by those high temps. I'm still trying to tweek for a few C's lower. Yesturday, I removed the Thermaltakes Smart Fans's thermister and am now running the 80mm fan at approximatly...

No, have not tried redirecting the CPU fan yet, that will be my next step...thanks. I just finished reapplying Artic Silver and reseating the Heat sink but no change...I even took the MB out this time to make sure I was doing it right. I'll reply back as soon as I change the CPU fan around...

AMD XP Running Hot

I thought I was getting the hang of cooling when I cooled my 1.2 Athlon with a Thermalright SK6 and a Delta Black Label fan; loud but cool. I then upgraded to an Antec case, Asus A7V333 MB, AMD XP 1800, and a Thermalright AX7 heat sink with Thermaltake's 80mm smart fan (trying to go quiet)...

Any Experience With Thermalright AX7

Hindsight, they say, is 20/20.....I am waiting on a newly ordered Thermalright AX7 heatsink with a Thermaltake Smart Fan w/Speed Control. Does anyone have experience with any of these 2 peices of equipment? I am runing an 1800 XP Athlon on an ASUS A7V333 (stock speed) and the stock heat sink...

Infrared port...Where to find them

I currently have a two USB ports with an IR port on the same panel. Does anyone know where I can buy the IR reciever? I have searched for it but I am not having good luck!! I will be using it to link up to my cell phone...Thanks :cool:

Microsoft Optical Mouse Problem

Just purchased a Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical USB/PS2. I have it connected to my PS2 port. During normal use or even playing a game, the pointer on the screen travels in any direction except the way I want it to go and will sometimes freeze at that position for a few seconds...pretty annoying...

Can someone tell me of any other sites that have reviews on scanners? I have looked in PCworld, ZDNET, and CNET but none carry any reviews on the Epson Perfection 1250 or 1650. Thanks. ;)

High Temps After Laping!?!?!

Used 600 grit paper to lap on a piece of precision flat stone (used to calibrate instruments). Cleaned off Athlon and heatsink with alcohol. Rubbed a very small amount of ASII into the heat sink surface using a new plastic bag to protect from contamination (oil in hands). Wipped off any...
