Question - Rate Best Maufacturer of 6800 GT/Ultra card ?

Yeah, when I auto detect the overclock on my BFG 6800 GT, it detects 426 / 1100. I ran it at 420 / 1100 no prob. It's quieter than my PNY 5900 for sure but I think that was an unusually loud card.

darkXoul: See my pic on page 2 of the BFG 6800 GT it's definitely not a reference cooling system. It's fairly quiet, not as bad as my 5900 was. 1 slot solution is nice too. Mine is running at about 65 degrees when it just sits there, I'll test the temp under a full load tonight.

Hahaha! Well, I opted for the BFG card for a bunch of reasons: first & foremost, availability.... Besy Buy just happened to have ONE in stock when I called. Snagged it. 2) it was only $399 3) Hardocp.com has a boner about it 4) it comes factory warranty overclocked, but not much (20 MHz)...

Well, for the record, I am a MORON. When messing with the settings of the card after I installed it, I changed AA & AF to 4X instead of "Application Controlled" LORD! I've been going ape over here, I even upgraded the BIOS on my system. BTW, what does the AGP/PCI MHz clock setting in the...

Hmmm, I have to play with it more. I have a 6800 GT OC and I put the settings on Ultra, res on 1024x 768 and put AA on 2x and the very first room you're in is choppy as hell ?? Weird. How can I see my frame rates displayed? There's a timedemo right? I might DL that and get that running...

BFG 6800 GT OC and Doom 3

I used coolbits to auto detect the optimal frequencies. It picked 427 / 1100 I ran 3Dmark2003 with those settings (default test) and scored a 9917 but non-OC'd I scored a 9396 is that worth it?? It seemed stable, but seeing as how I just bought the card today, I put it back to the default...

BFG 6800 GT??? where are they?

Even though the Best Buy site said it was out of stock, I called a couple of local branches and snagged the last one. Dude was nice enough to hold it for me while I split from work to grab it. $399 I almost fell victim to the price gouging on Ebay. I'll be installing Doom 3 tonight WOOOT...

More BFG6800GT's arrived today at some Best Buys.

The BB in my area had no problems holding one for me. Didn't even ask how long I'd be. ?? I guess it's a gamble. Nice job getting one though.

BFG 6800GT OC for 311.00 plus tax

Hey all, Don't believe the BestBuy site. If you're really looking for a card, call your local branches. I just did and scored a BFG 6800 GT OC for $399. Not exactly a HOT DEAL but at this point anything in stock for $400 is a good deal in my mind. Glad I got outbid on Ebay. LOL

Hey Bradleylicious, HardOCP & Id have a hardware guide - Official Doom 3 Hardware Guide They claim that it's very playable even on a GeForce MX 400 - key word being PLAYABLE. However you will have to disable many of the special effects. It really depends on what kind of experience...

Buying a 6800 on ebay?

For the $$$ involved, I'd rather purchase the item from some place like Bestbuy.com $399 for a GT and $499 for the Ultra. Even on Ebay, the GT's are going for well over $400. Most recent items are at the bottom: BFG GT Closed Ebay auctions
