Yeah, I suppose it could be a keyboard error. I'll try that tonight. It's a USB keyboard. I'm assuming if there was no recognized keyboard, I would at least get a beep code, or something would appear on the screen. The fans do stop completely. They don't suddenly halt, but they go from...

How do I measure case fan size?

I'm noob here, Can someone give me a straightforward answer on how to measure a fan size? I've found the following answers in various web places, which are all different on my fan: 1) measure the distance between the mounting holes 2) measure the outside of the case 3) measure the blades...

Dual-formatting a USB stick

Somehow was able to do it all within OSX disk utility. Using the "Master Boot Record" setting (I think), I created a first Fat32 Partition and a 2nd partition that was HFS+ -- somehow, the 5th or 6th time I did it, it didn't create little 32kb partitions at the beginning and end of the disk.

On-board ALC889 SPDIF input won't accept 32kHz audio signal

I ended up getting an external USB interface (Edirol UA1D), which seems to work ok, but mayhaps is dropping a few samples every so often. I haven't had time to look into it in detail, but that's my feeling. Works fine for capturing small clips from the tape, though.

Yeah, I put $189.99 on "gonna be around long enough to keep their firmware updated." It's been a good 9-month run so far. Hoping the fun continues so I don't have to become Captain Kext. Site is back up today, but the forum continues to be down. Those guys are kind of crazy about their forum...

I have an efi-x PC that has been running 10.5 fairly well for about 9 months now. I ran into some problems a few days ago with the firmware. Was going to send back to expresshd.com for reflashing (there's no Windows-side utility to fix your own firmware if it goes corrupt - ugh!)...

Ha! Actually had a tech support email in to Realtek, and they responded last night... said that it was Dolby-designed, and that it only handles 48kHz input. So... let me get this straight: Realtek builds the chip, Dolby builds the 5.1 and digital stuff using the Realtek chip, Realtek writes...
