Keyboard issues

I am in the process of building a new computer (my first). I recently had issues with the PSU not working, but I got that fixed. Now I am having issues with the keyboard not working. The computer loads into the motherboard default screen, but when I press "del" to try to go into the CMOS...

Powersupply won't turn on

okay, the reason why i think it is the psu is because the led lights on the psu aren't lighting up even when it is connected to an outlet. I will try from the very start again, see if i missed something.... but do you think the led lights not lighting up is a sign of a dead psu?

All of the ATX power connectors are in place.... When I speak of the ATX power connectors I mean: The 24 pin PSU connector The EZ _Plug connector The 4 pin ATX12V1 connector

Powersupply won't turn on

This is my first build, yes (I admit, I am definately a noob) I connected all the necessary power connections to the motherboard but I did *not* attach the cables for the button in front that would start up the PSU from the front of the PC. I instead was just planning on using the switch on...

Powersupply won't turn on

I finally got done making sure everything was in place, yada yada yada, plugged the PSU into my surge protector, flipped the switch, and nothing.... I attempted to raise the voltage on the PSU by using a screw driver to rotate the screws in back, then I flipped the switch....nothing...

Asus Mobos

Okay, now I'm *really* confused. I just called back and asked the same exact question to a different technical support agent, and they said I wouldn't need a BIOS update for either the premium or deluxe versions of this mobo. :-

They said while I was on the phone with them that I would need to actually send the mobo into to ASUS so they can update the BIOS...not exactly something I'm looking forward to doing.

According to the Asus website, it will, but I had a conversation with one of their technical support agents and it made me a bit nervous. He said that the BIOs would need to be updated and this mobo doesn't support X2 out of the box. Has anyone had any experience installing an X2 on this mobo...

3700+ or 3800+ x2?

I just wanted to add that realistically, single core processors will not be around for very much longer in my opinion. It appears that slowly, single core processors will be phased out and the dual core processors will rule the market, leaving very little use for a single core processor...

AMD 4800 vs 4400?

Given the cost of the 4800+, I cannot help but to notice that for .2gHZ less, I can save 338 dollars. Is the whole .2gHZ really worth 338 dollars or should i just get the 4400+ with intentions of overclocking it to 2.4? This doesn't seem like a very stressful overclock, but I have never...

Will the need for printing ever vanish.

There was actually an article about this in CPU mag a while ago I think. From what I understood, HP was creating a type of "electronic paper" that allowed the printing of documents onto this medium via pixels. The document could then be overwritten. Its been a long while since i've heard...

A wiki-like forum

THis could be a good idea, but you would need to place some restrictions on who can edit what. If you created a wiki-like message board, maybe it would be intellegent to have the comments be approved by moderators (or even yourself). This way, it will stop idiots from putting irrelevant...

Using PCI Express

This is my first time using PCI Express, and I know this is a very basic question but.... are there any special cables I will be needing once I recieve my cards? I will be running dual cards, so will I need some sort of splitter to connect the two cards into one monitor connection...
