heh it makes me wonder if threatening hardware will make it work. sounds like a good thesis for a paper...i bet i could pass it off. i have an 8481, and mine is a daughterboard too, its not soldered.

whoa this thread exploded. anyway, I solved my problem. I got very pissed, so I shoved my video card in the slot (probably more violently than you should treat a 300$ peice of silicon), cleared my cmos, yelled something profrane at the computer, and turned it on. wa-la! it works... Im guessing...

The card worked for a while, when I first installed it. When I powered down the system, and didn't turn it back on until the next day, I would get no video on boot. It simply does not work anymore, no matter what I try. There is no video at all at boot, and there are no beeps from the...

svideo out on new laptop, need some help

yeah its Fn + F8, that doesnt work either, just makes the tv blink. tried updated to latest bios, and updating to latest video drivers. in display settings, you can switch between lcd, a monitor, or a tv. the tv is greyed out no matter what i do. any other ideas?

svideo out on new laptop, need some help

i just bought a new dell c600, it has svideo out and ive got an svideo to composite cable. i plugged it into my trinitron tv, but i didnt get anything, just black with some horizonal grey lines going by. I think it may be a software thing, i tried lowering the resolution, still no luck. I kind...

this really does suck doesnt it. i think we need to dissasemble whatever controls the atebrowser and like you said, edit it so it doesnt appear anymore...ive been using the aim type message mode too, that doesnt drive me mental as much as looking at the banners does

this definately sucks. slikkster, it just so happens that my new laptop just arrived today, ill try a new install on that with a new icq #, and see what happens. factory-direct laptop, you dont get much more fresh than that
