Worst Graphics Card Purchases

Does a GTX 295 work on a AMD 790FX board?

If you mainly play FFXI, just RMA the card, maybe even sell it to someone and just get something cheaper like an HD4670. FFXI doesn't touch your GPU (for the most part) anyways, it's pretty much a complete waste of money to go with anything super high end for the purposes of FFXI. Nvidia's...

Replacing my processor--worthwhile?

74$ for the E5200, and I'm on an old E6300 that runs hot.. Intel DP35DP motherboard, wasn't looking to overclock. Just want something cooler/faster. The lower FSB isn't going to hurt performance in any way the 700mHz difference won't make up for, right?

AMD (ATI) aims to take back the mid segment

Eh, I'm of the same opinion. The HD2600XT really isn't that bad for its price, like they say, and I mean, if Crossfiring it is good (has anyone posted Crossfire benchmarks of it, anywhere?), the dual-chip solution should be SOMEWHAT close to that performance usually, and for only 30$-40$ more...

Why am I not seeing any HD2600XT/pro benchies yet?

I know, it's getting ridiculous. I've been wondering the same thing. They're supposed to be out soon, how've we not seen anything? I don't care if it's not awesome performance, I care if it's awesome for the price. >_>

35c IDLE too hot for AMD64 3000+?

Well that makes a bit more sense then. All I ever hear about are the Venices, which makes me jealous and leaves me with little knowledge of the Newcastle other than 130nm. >_>;; Still, I've heard that's way too hot for it anyways. XD

... huh. I just noticed my Newcastle is at 1.49v, which would PROBABLY explain why I idle at 49C and load at 53C. ... how did I never pick that up?
