Should I cancel my RX 580 order?

I sold my RX 580, I'd hold onto that HD7950 a bit longer for the RX 580X (or whatever it will be). And as others said, 1070, 1070Ti,1080 and even Vega 56 are selling really cheap right now, I picked up a 1070Ti a few weeks ago for a steal.

How many cores and threads do you think are too many for a mainstream desktop?

MemoryExpress just put up 2080/2080Ti listings, $1600-1700 CAD for the 2080Ti is beyond ridiculous. 1080 came out at $999 and 1080Ti came out at $1100, almost $600 jump in next generation. As hard as it is to maintain money in Canada right now, I'm not sure if it will be a strong seller in Canada.

*update confirmed* method found to run Freesync on Nvidia GPU's via AMD APU's (pcper)

Expect Nvidia to find a way to block that. I have a triple monitor setup for sim racing and they're Freesync monitors but I'm using a 1070Ti.
