The Linksys combo AP + router has decent range (BEFW11S4). The WAP11 access point also has decent range, though the radiation pattern from the antennas is much more power directed up and down than horizontally. If you've got the WAP11, try moving the antennas around.

The AWBR does do MAC address control. It didn't when it first was released, but a firmware update a couple revs ago added it.
You might take a little performance hit by switching MAC address control on though. I don't know if this has been improved in the more recent firmwares.

For what it's worth. I emailed Andy Rodriguez about my order two weeks ago and as of today, the credits have been applied to my credit card. So at least this time they are owning up to the mistake and dealing with it.

After coming home from out of town yesterday evening, I finally opened up my VX900. The screen is just plain beautiful. No ghosting that I could really detect from the starwars episode 2 trailer I was playing on it and the web browsing I was doing.
Haven't had a chance to run a DVD on it yet...

Ah, the good news is that I got a UPS tracking number for my VX900. The bad news is it's not in the UPS system yet.
