Is there an all in one Monochrome Laser printer that will print/scan at......

Hi CorCentral, Yes I just got a Brother MFC-7840w last week which will take 8.5x14 in the tray and scan 8.5x14 through the ADF. I haven't personally used that size, though. I got it for $278 at BestBuy (B&M), but it's on sale this week there for $250. Its the lowest I could find...

Think I'm going mad!!

Alan, not all coax connectors screw on. Some slide on - right over those threads. So before you change the connector, see if yours will slip on there (if you haven't already tried).

Hi Alan, The RF signal uses a coax connection. I see two coax connectors in the picture, so it's one of those.

Strange internet problems

First step to isolate the problem is to take the router out of the loop and connect your ethernet cable directly to your modem. See if it still happens. Do you use cable or dsl? What speed? Post your system specs.

Yes. The reason My Documents isn't visible in Explorer now is because the original user used the "make private" option on that folder. Since My Documents is a subfolder of the drive (several levels deep), when you take ownership of the entire drive, it will provide access to everything in...

Here's a slick little SFF box

Interesting... The theme of that design was obviously inspired by one of my favorite movies (actually a series of movies): "Hellraiser". The little cube was a key element in each Hellraiser movie. Fiddling with the box would open the gates of hell, and doom you to an eternity of intense...

computer won't boot after CMOS reset

Hi ProfJohn, The reason Windows won't load is because when the CMOS is cleared, you are prompted next bootup with something like this: [F1] for setup [F2] to load default settings Of course, since your screen is blank you don't get to see this. So press F2 and most likely it will boot...

please help

The p4m800 is a VIA chipset, and the 478 indicates a socket478 which takes a Pentium4 or Celeron, Prescott series. So if you can find one to swap, great because we can't tell you if it's mobo or cpu thats bad. Just that when it comes down to the two, its almost always the mobo.

Computer (hdd?) working overtime! Why!?

Does the problem only happen when Windows is loaded up? What about safe mode? Or at the BIOS screen? I would cancel the overclock for now and reset the BIOS. First record your current settings for future reference.

Computer (hdd?) working overtime! Why!?

First try running the diagnostics from the hdd mfr. You can download them from the mfr websites. Also make sure the drive transfer mode is DMA (not PIO). You can check this in the properties for the drive controller in Device Manager.
