HardOCP editors declare "shimmer" issue meaningless

When I look at the roof of my house from certains angles, I see moire/"shimmer"... Who do I blame...NVIDIA or ATI? Or have people just to muh time in games (cheating/easy-mode) to look for anomolies that also our in the real world? And why bitch so much, when BOTH companies card have it...

When running an operating system not supported by driver or the platform that games where designed for, don't whine if problems begins to show. The different "measures" you have to take in order to get games/drivers to work, shows you that you are on the wrong path.(read: bad OS for gaming)...

Wanted: A driver fix for the HORRIBLE Nvidia shadow IQ in Farcry...

Well, then I am off to do a "shadow" hunt i FarCry's system.cfg, thx for the heads up ;) I might even make a new video *L* Terra - Infact I havn't touched Farcry since I made the "HDR vs no-HDR video" ;)

So you are saying that all this bickering about the "poor NVIDIA IQ" in farcry, was due to a GAME-SETTING(in the system.cfg)? Not something in the driver? Terra - I will now read the thread again, and laugh at those "jumping the gun", thx mate ;)

Yup ;) Back when I was in the service weused Heckler&Koch G3, and a LMG(1000-1200 rounds per min), wich basically was nothing more than a German MG42 from WWII. But both where 7.62mm and packed a punch. A M-16 round won't go through a brick or a car, but a G3 round will ;) Terra - Impact...

R580 Details - Foxconn already has design kits for ATI's R580 socket

I still lack any indication of how WELL ATI's GPU can work as PPU... And if you have your GPU working as PPU too, preformance will suffer. Why? Because the GPU can only do a limited number of MIPS. Now you need the GPU to both do GFX and physics, then the GFX will suffer in direct proprotion...

Four words for you: Not my native tounge. Have you had any experince with serbian/croat/bosnian snipers? They are not top trained snipers, they are farmers, clerks, teachers with a scoped weapon in their hands. I served 2 tours of 6 months each for DANBAT under UNPROFOR in Krainia-serbia...

They only things that are broken on the 6800's are 2 or 3 WM9 hardware video stuff, DVD/MPEG2 playback works just fine. (I don't even own a WM9 video :confused: ) In order to what you need to get Purevideo working, this link made it work for me: Enabling 2D Enhancements on GeForce 6 and 7...

It does mention a future FarCry patch, as this could be a game-engine problem, and not an NVIDIA(read driver) problem. Terra - Time will tell...
