IRQ allocation isn't as much of a problem today as yesteryear. It is okay if multiple devices share IRQs - otherwise Windows would let you know. If you haven't tried: i) Make SURE that you have determined spyware/adware is not your problem 1) Goto Start > Run > msconfig 2)...

random restarts

If you are overclocking: don't. High FSB frequencies are the only way that I've ever replicated memory errors of that nature. Also, check your memory latencies - if you are intimidated by timings, set them to 'BySPD' or 'Factory Default'.

CPU or Mobo broken?

Have you tried the videocard in any other machine? I would. Though, it doesn't make much sense that there aren't any abnormal POST beeps.

Troubleshooting BSODs

Are you overclocking? The only time that I've EVER seen a stack dump is when my FSB is too high, and my RAM can't handle it.

Best mid/low-range(price) graphics card? Bang for the buck?

Keep in mind: Unlocking doesn't always work. My friend unlocked his vanilla 6800 and got it to work, but lost the ability to overclock - and in his case overclocking it offered more performance than unlocking it. You just never know, but all in all a 6800 is a nice card indeed. edit...

Superfetch in vista...

...uh.... that seems like an awful idea on MS's behalf. For running 'optimally' Vista requires a SATA2 drive (which are capable of a 300MB/s burst transfer rate) and at least DDR400 RAM ( 3200MB/s), even using a standard IDE 133 HD you still get speeds gusting to 133MB/s. NOW, compare that...

Windows XP Pro load time...

My guess that the reason that is slow is because (I assume) that your operating system is on the RAID...when your system completes POST, it has to the initiate the RAID BIOS, where the hard drives in the array are detected...this could be adding the seconds that you are missing out on.

Firefox as an IE replacement?

Yeah, I have Firefox 0.9.2 and I love it...I am not sure why I didn't move to the mozilla wave sooner. Too bad you can't completely remove IE (unless you're running Win 95)...

3Dmark 05 = blah.

Yet another rant about 3Dmark05, but when I ran this 'benchmark' for the first time yesterday, I was just plain insulted. How can a systen that gets 45000 Aquamarks get 1100 in 3dmark05? Sure, the tests were beautiful, but they ALL ran at less than 2FPS the ENTIRE time. What is Futuremark up...
