It's non trivial to just remove the Atom cores from the SOC and put in a big Core. It's likely that those IOs have been designed with Atom in mind. Putting a big Core in it would require a whole new design and at that stage you might as well be making an entire new product with all the design...
You guys talk as if it were that easy designing a CPU lol. The engineers must probably be sweating blood trying to design a chip like Haswell. And here you guys are complaining that you want more cores for cheap.
Where I work there is now an option to switch out from the Eltebook 8560 to a Lenovo T520. Engineers been complaining about the weight and reliability of the Elitebook
I'm from Malaysia, and as of 14 December, the Sandy Bridge chips along with their mother boards are available on sale already. Prices match the RRPs listed.
If I'm not mistaken, some one in Malaysia says that HD5870 stocks are already in the city and is ready to be delivered. Pricing is believed to be RM15XX (conversion rate is roughly USD 1=RM3.5). Stock ready to be delivered by Wednesday. link http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1167486
