Opty 165 temp help!

I bumped them up to 1.35 +100.4% in the bios. Cpuz shows 1.375v though, instead of 1.404v. Running orthos now. Give me about an hour to see if it locks up again.

I'll work with the voltages to see if that will help with the stability, but the temps still bother me quite a bit.

Before I bought it I read a review on one of their power supplies. I can't find it now, or I'd link it. It is an inexpensive psu, so it might not be up to the load that's being put on it. But it's been perfect up to this point. I might just go ahead and replace it anyway. I was planning to when...

I understand that. It was around 60° last night when I was testing it. It's around 70° right now.

I'll try the voltage. I just don't see idling at 40° with everything at stock as "good". From what I've been seeing, most 165s are idling around 30-35° and load is in the 40s. Yes, cool n quiet is off.

Yes, two different mobos. I'm using the last official bios from dfi. My biggest thing is how these optys are acting straight out of the box. AMD and newegg would not be shipping these things if they weren't going to run right straight from the box.

Up till these 165s, my rig and the one I built for my mom have been 100% rock solid. We live in rural Ok, we're probably the only people in the state that knows what a "939" is.

Yes, it's a really nice psu. The absolute only thing that's changed is the cpu. I went from my 3000+ @2.4ghz @ 1.5v (for complete stability) to these 165s @ 1.8ghz @ 1.3v.

I haven't tried a raidmax psu. I've used my Athena and my mom's system which has an aerocool zerodb 620. Sorry if I seem kinda....grumpy guys, I've been trying to track this down for a couple of days and it's driving me nuts. I really do appreciate all the suggestions, even if I've already...

Explain the same behavior in the other system with a AeroCool ZERODBA-S620? I've already tried setting everything manually, just like the dfi nf4 boards like. I'm not new to computers, overclocking, or any of this, just dualcores. And right now I am damn close to just putting the winnie...

The temps would be fine if I wasn't running at stock speed and vcore this whole time! Yes, I did a fresh install of xp pro when I installed the dual cores. Nothing in my rig, or my mom's system is running at anything other than bone stock speeds. Both systems are behaving identically.

I have my mom's comp sitting in the corner right now. Everything in her system is different, except she has a newer ultra-d. I'm thinking it's the ihs...again, but what are the odds? Four different 165s all with badly set ihs? Two of them with steppings that no one has had any problems with...

Temps are the same with everest. A fresh install was the first thing I did. So there wouldn't be any os issues. The winnie 3000+ that's in my sig was there before and I'm using the gskill ram that's in my sig as well. Everything from my sig is the same except the proc.

Load temp with the xp90 is around 51°. Yes, it is at stock speed and vcore, both verified with cpuz. With the xp90, I ran orthos for just under an hour when my system locked up.
