Why do motherboard makers continue to advertise SLI support when nvidia officially ended multi gpu support a few years ago?

In. My day. We could run 3x video cards! But not now.

Your motherboard probably won't allow it. Maybe? Like they said. You should just do it at 8x instead of 16x pcie

What's my best option for a 4x pci-e physx card. right now! quick!! thanks

I just bought a GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) FPB EE 1GB card. it's going to be the third card in my system, next to two GTX 580 EVGA vanilla. is this going to work well as a physx setup? yes, I understand that physx isn't perfect.. but lets not get into that. not now!! I think I like this 460...

ANYWAYS... after reading that article, and taking note that INDEED, there is a noticeable difference between 16x/16x and 8x/8x when we are talking about gaming at EXTREMELY high resolution on a triple-monitor NVIDIA Surround setup.......... well, in that case, you get almost a 10% loss in...

Ya, sure, I believe it! I figure, some games will be best on one screen.. some will rock out on all 3! I look forward, especially to my favorite RTS games - starcraft 2, spread out on 3 screens, I love it :) :P the most productive use of the three monitor setup will be for my production...

Ok , hm.. well, let's say that I just stick to the 2 x gtx 580 right now and in the future. because I would imagine that this is PLENTY of horsepower in the most important parts (cpu, ram , motherboard, video cards). as i understand it - having two cards at 8x/8x isn't particularly wasteful...

I didn't mean to be so obtrusive. I was just playing. I'm happy to have a top of the line rig again.. and btw, I did some more research into the prospect of triple-SLI and I came to the same conclusion as you: it's not worth it, even if I had the money to do it because the 3rd PCI-E won't even...

Ya Ya, Blah blah, SLI is a ripoff. It's not efficient enough. life isn't perfect. the world aint fair. but my rig is a lot faster than yours!! lets write that part in stone right now I have 3 identical 28" Hanns-g 3ms monitors. I'm gonna run nvidia's surround gaming setup... no, they don't...
