Is an external tuner an option?

Great, seems kind of logical to me that with no A/D-conversion quality concerns shouldn't be that much of a problem. I don't plan on doing analog at all since I neither have tapes or a games console so that shouldn't be a problem. So is my only quality concern getting a proper antenna/signal...

Time to retire my old rig?

Which program is reporting the correct core temps?

I think 75 is pretty good considering you're running stock cooling and an overvolt. I run my E6600 on 340*9@stock and do about 70 in core-temp and normal ambient with a Scythe Mine and Artic Silver 5 - my airflow is not optimal however so the heatsink/thermal paste combo should be able to do...

How long will a Core2Duo be a "good" processor?

Ahh, that makes sense I guess since the 975 was made for the first 1066 fsb pentium with not to much high-bandwidth ddr around. I find it a bit strange though that the 1066 fsb / ddr 533 divider wouldn't be available though, since that's the one with the same (theoretical) bandwith on memory and...

I don't understand this. I run my memory on a lower devider easy enough with my P5w DH - I just use one of the memory settings that was 'meant' for using ddr2 533 on stock speed when I run at a 25% oc and get ddr2 667...

BURNING hot or normal?! (e6600 OC)

TAT is Intel Thermal Analysis tool. But in my experience it taps onto the same probe as core temp, at least I get the exact same temperatures. Somethings definitely wrong somewhere for you, I have comparable ambient temperatures, though on a i975x chip set but I never get temps over 70 - and...

Looking for opinions on a conservative overclock

Your memory is set at 800 mhz standard because the frequency depends on your fsb, 266 mhz quad-pumped, and a multiplier. The standard memory-fsb-ratio on C2D is 266 mhz fsb and 800 mhz memory but you can set it higher in the BIOS. Some people would advocate that running the memory and fsb 1:1...

I've been experimenting some with undervolting. I haven't tried any lower than one step below max at my current oc, but I tried stepping down the fsb to standard value and see how far I could get. 1.225 vcore seems to be the minimum value on my MB, which is what I seem to be able to run stably...

You're using core temp to measure your temps, right I see two or three possible explanations of my fairly high temps (just checked: on normal frequency it does 59 degrees C under SP2004). As far as I've seen in reviews my Scythe mine cooler should perform pretty decently. I see three...

Hi all, I just received my E6600 yesterday and after burn-inn I've started experimenting with oc'ing. So far I've reached my first 'checkpoint' 3.06 ghz at 340.46x9 on stock voltage which was my immediate goal and a 25% oc I could be satisfied calling it a day with.... But of course I'll try...

Conroe Cooling

I don't think that will even be a problem. I've seen a lot of people on silentpcreview running their A64-systems with only a single fan apart from the one in the PSU and the Ninja on the CPU and since Conroe is even cooler than A64 you should be able to do the same if you design your airflow...

Power for my Core 2 Duo system - 430 watts enough
