Ahh, so the coolant should still be present and accounted for, excellent! I'll give the cooler a try and see how it goes since I didn't see any visible signs of leaking or evaporation (such as condensation on the plastic packaging). Worst case is that I have to replace it with another cooler...

Not hitting the snooze button?

I have this wake-up light: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003X...=SY115&simLd=1. I'm not a snoozer, but it does actually help me wake up during these dark winter mornings. Plus, it doubles as a bedside lamp. It was about $80 when I bought it.
