The cold boot problem seems to have occured around the same time I started OC'ing my ram. I have P4 1.8A @ 2.4gz(1.625v), Antec 430w PS, 1 256mb PC3200 Samsung Rimm(40ns) @ PC4200 (533 spec). System is pretty stable with a few crashes early, but now I sometimes get a no boot situation and must...
Check with Iwill. You may have a KK266 that has a multiplier problem! I understand IWill will make good (RMA etc.) on your MB and from what I have heard it would be well worth it! GooD LucK!
John's right! You should have a jumper that in default is set up for ATA-100, the other side for Raid. In the Bios you can configure the Raid. GooD LucK!
Also check out Radeon tweaker by Homus( not sure about spelling). Latest version is 4.3 and has goodies like OC'ing Utility, pre-set profiles, etc. I have a LE in my wife's rig and all is well with 7089 drivers and clocked at 170 cpu and mem. GooD LucK!
O.K. I'm a little confused, which component?! I think you ruled out the CPU, so check all slots(video, mem, pci, etc.) and make sure everything is seated. Try different memory if your have it and check all power connections on the MB. Try a step-by-step procedure(use your MB manual as a guide) so...
Sorry about your problems w/A7V133! I have that board and all is quite well. Both boards are very similar and ours should , when set up properly, out perform the A7V. Check AMD "type" sites to get an idea on how to best set up your board and if you have the time run some benchmarks...
I saw that also but was turned off by the asking price! I have a "tech" friend with considerable skill who soldered the bridges for me. One caveat though, the solder might make the connection too "strong" making it necessary to OC in the jumper mode on my Asus A7V133! Good Luck!
The GeForce might be faster(latest Radeon drivers are closing the gap)but does not look as good as the Radeon IMHO. Games look terrific and most play fast enough for me (FPS addict w/ALL eye candy!)and I have the 64mb Vivo.
Do try the latest bios it might help but a sure bet would be to go into "jumper" mode and O.C. your Duron that way. I have 750 Duron @800(6x133) core voltage 1.65 and everything is running fast and stable! Good Luck!
I agree with Dulanic. Install the latest 4in1 drivers (I'm using 4.28, 4.29 are betas). The AGP driver is a pretty good one, also check for tweaking your GeForce in a socket A mb along with installing the latest drivers for it. Good Luck!
If I can remember correctly(currently at work) you have to make sure the jumpers are in the "bios adjustable" mode(I believe it is also called "default"). Any FSB settings above 133 are all done in the bios. Good Luck!
Thiw error came up after loading adaptec easy cd creator amd re-booting but I don't think that is the problem. I recently did a clean install of win98se and 4.28 4in1 drivers on my wife's computer( Tyan S1854, Apollo 133a chipset, 256mb PC-133 Cas2, 15Gig Maxtor, Voodoo 3000). I have notice...
I have the MX300 sound card w/Asus A7V-133 and no problems. I recommend though disabling soundblaster support. Check www.3dsoundsurge on how to do this and get the latest drivers too! Good Luck!
