I would get the software, as there is probably a way to set up what each button does, on the first push, second push, and so on. Or just look for a manual or something online if you have the exact model number.

Yea, go for liquid cooling if you can. The noise level goes down, but its good for other reasons which would be the main advantage. - Plus you'll get some sleep :)
