hey all, well my best friend just gave me his 4 year old Sony Vaio Laptop (still good, even though he hates it). Seeing as how it has Windows Me running on it (*shudder*), i popped in an XP pro disk (burned, heh) to install and found out that the CD-ROM drive had completely crapped out on it...

Should I switch to the iPod?

Around May I wanted to get a Digital Music player and was opting for the Ipod, but the price threw me off slightly (didnt have a job at the time) and its battery horror stories swayed me over to get the RIO Karma instead. I've enjoyed the Karma a lot, with its great support for FLAC and ogg...

Duke Students Given Free Ipods!

why not just save $39,700 (and thats just for the first year) and buy the damn thing yourself if you want it so bad. I would be pumped if I was going there already and then they announce this, but its just a perk to get more people to enroll there. You're pretty much paying for the thing anyways...
