That damn cashier at OD B&M refused to 155% pricematch this sandwich against a copy of Star Wars Episode 1 Pod Racer game. Finally I made him call in the store manager and they finally gave in after calling to verify quantity in stock. Got it for free. Cool, now I'm going to hit every OD...
I just got back from picking up a stick of this memory at their offices. I don't know if everyone down there was so nice because their boss was letting them off early for the holidays and they wanted me out the door or if they are always that way, but they were all very nice to me. They eaven...
Shopss.com is moving along with its Reverse Merger. Here is a link describing what a RM is and it explains why Shopss is still alive and why its stock is up.

I signed up for that free shirt from microsoft and became a member in the microsoft OEM system builder program, and they sent me a MSCE training kit for Windows 2000 Professional. It has a thick class book with a disc inside. MSCE Exame 70-210.
They also sent me a 'Beta 3' Preview...

I joined the Microsoft OEM system builders program to get a fee shirt (never got it), but they recently sent me a Windows ME Preview (Beta 3) disc *for evaluation purposes only*. I was wondering if it would be worth my trouble to load this on my PC or if I should just pitch it. Thanks.

Just make sure you get the 100 MHz FSB coppermine so you can OC it (or get another motherboard when it's time to upgrade).
ASUS S370-133 has only voltage settings and a FCPGA/PPGA jumper. Strange that my FCPGA P-III works just fine with the jumper in the PPGA position.

I just read today (and forgot the link) about the sucessfull video cards running at 88 MHz AGP. I think all the Geforce cards had sideband enabled. Disabling sideband helped in all cases. I remember they used Powerstrip to disable sideband, but you had to do it each time you booted up...
I have a chepo Hi Val A3D sound card, and every time I install it, it uses IRQ 9 or 10. It also causes an unknown device to be installed in IRQ 5 (where the sound card should be installed). When I pull up the Device Manager windows shows a problem with 'Sound Blaster Emulation,' and shows that...
AMR = Audio Modem Riser. Another slot to put a cheap modem or soundcard in I believe. From what I understand, if you have something in the AMR slot you should hang your head in shame. :)
I have had the same monitor for 4 months now, and I haven't heard any buzzy fizzle-clicks coming from it. Sounds like it could be coming from the electron guns on the back of your picture tube. This may not be a serious problem, but in my book, noise is a bad thing. Is this monitor easy to...
